Care Instructions
Cellular Shades
Cellular shades are easy to clean. Use a brush-type vacuum attachment or feather duster for dusting and lightly stroke over the shade. To clean with water, use a damp sponge and lightly dab. Avoid contact with window cleaning products. Cellular shades are durable and will stay soft and beautiful for years to come.

Wood Blinds
To keep Kirsch wood blinds looking their best, periodically wipe them with a soft cloth, a dusting mitt or the brush attachment from a vacuum cleaner. You can clean the blinds hanging in place or you can take them down. By tilting the slats down, but not quite closed, you'll be able to clean most of the top surface of each slat. Do not use water, solvents or abrasive solutions to clean the blinds. This will cause damage to the blind which is not covered under warranty.
For real wood blinds, in very dusty environments, you may use a non-wax furniture polish to clean the blind.
For Variance™(composite) or Modernesque™(faux) wood blinds, you may use a soft, lightly dampened cloth to clean your faux wood blinds.
Woven Wood Shades
Periodically vacuum with a brush attachment to ensure lasting beauty. With proper care and maintenance, woven woods should last for years.
PanelTrac® Shades
Periodically vacuum with a brush attachment to ensure lasting beauty. Should your shade become stained, use a mild detergent solution to dab any stains. Always be sure to spot test solution on an inconspicuous area before cleaning.
Custom Roller Shades
Periodic dusting and vacuuming with a dusting attachment should keep your shade looking clean and new. Should your shade become stained, dab with water or dilute detergent solution if necessary. Always spot test any detergent solution on an inconspicuous area to test colorfastness.
Soft Vertical Shades
All Kirsch Soft Vertical fabrics are 100% polyester. Periodic dusting or vacuuming with a dusting attachment should keep you shade looking clean and new. Should your shade become stained, dab with water or dilute detergent solution if necessary. Always spot test any detergent solution on an inconspicuous area to test colorfastness.

Vertical Blinds
Your Kirsch vertical blinds seldom require cleaning because the vanes hang vertically. However, all products and furnishings get soiled due to some degree of condensation, humidity, smoke and steam.
Fabric Vanes
Periodic feather dusting or vacuuming will keep the fabric fresh. Spot clean any stains by applying a mild soap and water solution with a sponge or cloth. Check color fastness first by cleaning an inconspicuous area of the vane. Do not machine wash or dry clean.
Vinyl Vanes
Apply a mild soap and cold or warm water solution with a soft cloth or sponge. Abrasive or strong cleansers may scratch or mar the vane's surface. Dry with a cloth towel to avoid water marks.

Metal Blinds
Kirsch metal blinds feature DustGuard®, an exclusive paint process that reduces dust build-up on blinds by over 50%. By "disrupting" the static on the blind's metal surface, DustGuard actually resists airborne dust particles. Since it is an integral part of the surface, it lasts for the life of the blinds.
However, when moderate dusting is required, Kirsch metal blinds can be periodically wiped with a soft dust cloth, a dusting mitt, or a round brush attachment from a vacuum cleaner. You can clean the blind hanging in place or you can take it down. By tilting the slats down, but not quite closed, you'll be able to clean most of the top surface of each slat.
In a very dusty environment, you may need to clean the blind using a sponge or dampened soft cloth. Use warm (not hot) water and mild detergent. The mild detergent cannot contain abrasives. Rinse the blind with clean water to prevent water spots. Place a towel on the floor or windowsill to absorb any water that drips from the blind.
Note: certain solutions and equipment are too harsh and can cause color damage to your blind. Avoid abrasive solutions or ultrasonic cleaning machines.
